      Activities

      1. Read Chapter 5 "Be Unique, Be You" in Big Life Journal - Second Edition.

      2. Create a “Big Life BoardA collage of images and words representing child's dreams, goals, things, and people that matter to them.

      3. Print and display the printable poster for young athletes: a great reminder for kids to focus on doing their best and improving their results (it's part of the Growth Mindset Printables Kit).

      4. Teach young children to let go of negative thoughts through the use of the “balloon technique”. Tell your child to catch self-critical or negative thoughts, then imagine blowing them into a balloon and letting it go. They can then replace the negative thought with a more positive one, or with an affirmation like, “I’m doing my best.”
